This “demo” of mine came up on my iPod random the other day. I recorded it directly onto my laptop a few years ago. Discerning listeners will spot an ultra-Romantic quotation of Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll near the end [see below] (which apparently had some emotional resonance at the time, considering where and when I wrote it). Extra discerning listeners will note the modal language (I was very much under the sway of Fauré and Alain at the time), along with my characteristic painfully Caucasian nerd-jazz. Extra extra discerning listeners will note my stomping the beat on the pedals, messing up in several parts and the sound of my mom watching 20/20 in the other room. Extra extra extra discerning listeners probably won’t like it very much.
